If you are familiar with the DK Eyewitness travel books, I’m sure that you’ll agree with me that they are an outstanding travel companion! They do what no other travel book does – there is minimal text and maximum amount of photographs, illustrations, and information snippets. It’s a paperback book with French flaps which has the broad index, and maps are included on the endpapers. It is arranged geographically, with a section at the back for hotels, restaurants, shopping, entertainment and more.
The geographic chapters are where the book really stands out. Each chapter includes a map plus sights at a glance. Then it goes street by street, indicating what is important to see in each locale. They devote four pages to the major sightseeing attractions such as the Boston Museum of Fine Art, including a map of the museum and indications of what is important to see in each section. This is incredibly helpful if you only have limited time to visit the museum.
I would highly recommend any of the DK Travel books. They have been very helpful to us during our travels. Run, don’t walk, to your nearest bookstore or go online and get one of their travel books for your next trip. You will not be disappointed!
